This book is very sad, so prepared yourself. I enjoyed the writing style and the dynamic characters. I also enjoyed the political elements and the honest viewpoint of what life was like in California. I'd recommend it!

This book could have been about 4hrs shorter. The worldbuilding at the beginning was not necessary for a novel solely about union busting and the repercussions of migrant workers in the 1930s.
