I read this book because it came up in conversation and since I am engaged to be married, as research for my future. I definitely like the concept of what the 5 love languages represent and it was a fun task to figure out which ones were my preference vs how my fiance felt. Even though I now know what his primary love language is, I kinda knew before that is how he showed me that he loved me. I think this book is good reading for any couple who are dating, engaged or married and I would recommend it to them. The book does have some overt religious tones, but I felt they were pretty easy to ignore overall.
I love how this book captured the importance of your spouses love languages. This book will help me speak my husband’s love language and how mine is different from his and that is OK. I will continue to hold this book to pass down as I might need a reference to help me and my husband, as we go through our marriage journey.
Great book!!! So much great information about how to understand your partner better.
I really got some major insight out of this book. It's one of those cheeseball books that I totally felt embarrassed to read amongst other people, until I told friends and everyone seems to have read it too--all in agreement about how amazing it was. I knew instantly what language Dominic was, but honestly felt it way more interesting to uncover what mine is. I've already ordered the audio version for dominic from the library and am kinda geeky excited to see how implementing our love languages furthers our relationship--not just with each other, but with Luca, my mom, and friends. The FAQs were a bit like "see, this book works!" and I found it tiresome and annoying--hence it didn't receive the coveted 5 star.
I'd been interested in reading this after my time working at Lifeway. So many people swore by this book, bought it for wedding gifts... I figured it would be worth a read.
Not exactly.

The author introduces simple and sensible concepts in this book which I recommend to all (married or not). Great that the author draws up many examples from his professional experience. I didnt like the ending with the call to religion
