Not a horrible book but lots of religious talk that could turn off individuals that don’t include faith into their marriage. Not bad ideas if you can put that to the side. Very man and woman talk and I’m guessing the religion wouldn’t let the writer have any other opinions for a relationship. I don’t regret reading it but I wish I rented the book and not purchased it.
I know everyone loves this book, and I agree that has some common knowledge that might be difficult to pinpoint at first~ but I feel like we all have the 5 love languages, all the time. In my case, I thought it was maybe one or two, but found myself responding and needing all 5 depending on the time I was in. I found the book a bit reductive, but overall a good read!
Wonderful book. Has opened up many conversations between my husband and I and even with our boys. Great way to look at love differently.
Really like the psychological concepts and believe it will help every relationship (not just romantic ones, even) but man, the anecdotes did not age well.

Loved this book. Would recommend to an engaged couple!
Quick Read
Read this in an afternoon on the train. I knew about the love languages before but hadn't read the book. I liked seeing the dialects within the languages and the exercises gave me some new ideas on how to communicate with my loved ones. Three stars for the altar call at the end.

This is a great book about communicating ... I will read it again.
Total breakthrough to understanding relationships, broken down in the simplest way. My love language is definitely quality time. What are you? Before giving up or settling in any relationship, you MUST read this book, and the world will make sense [3

It's a very interesting read. I've known my love language but it's interesting to think of the love languages of the people around me (friends, family, etc.) and adapting to them if they don't match mine.
It's told from the perspective of married readers, but I think it still resonates with everyone.
