super sweet with a scoopful of heart flutters

now i gotta go rewatch the movie

A very predictable but cute book

This book was ok. It was fine. I don’t really get the hype though. It’s a cute story, original plot, pretty funny. But it’s not amazing. It’s just a pretty regular YA Romance. I actually think I liked the movie better, which I rarely say, but I think the characters were more likeable in the movie than in the book. The characters in the book at times fell a little flat, or just resembled stereotypes, typical high school characters, but never had much depth or growth. And the ending was a bit disappointing, there was no resolution.
I liked it well enough that I will probably read the sequels because I want to know how everything ends, but I wouldn’t say this is a must-read.

dnfing this

Overall, this is a very cute story. Sometimes, Lara Jean is somewhat annoying as she overthinks everything, but that's just part of her personality as a teenager. I appreciated the story's progression, even if I thought that Lara Jean reacted too quickly sometimes. I look forward to continuing the series.

Synopsis: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister's ex-boyfriend, Josh. As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all.

Review: How adorable is this book?? I felt like the writing was like how you would write in a diary, very personal and very intimate. The book has a clear, distinct voice, and it’s not just a romance book. The book talks about families and sisterhood as well. The book also brought up good points about bullying, stigmatism, and slut shaming.

However, I felt like the book sort of ended abruptly and that it didn’t give the reader a chance to really understand what was going through Lara Jean’s head.

Verdict: I love Lara Jean.
