Honestly, this book was…a lot to handle. I couldn’t believe the ending and how much the plot moved from one place to another. I was definitely not expecting anything like this and quite frankly this book gave me a headache with the amount of twist the plot has. I believe if you like books that have great writing and crazy, crazy plots, this book is for you. But in my opinion, it was a lot to process and I will probably never read this again (THANK GOD!!) Overall, I actually look forward to reading other book made by Grady Hendrix, because this was definitely an experience I would like to have again with his other literary works.

Rarely do I think a book would work better as a movie, but this one would. I could absolutely picture some of the scenes in this book as scenes from a slash movie, but I think that is a weakness of the book. It was very fast-paced, while for a book I expect a little more buildup. The ending was definitely more enjoyable than the beginning, and I did have a good time reading the book, but maybe someone with more of an appreciation for the genre would enjoy it more.

Why are we more comfortable with fast, dramatic deaths than the slow decay most people get? After all, isn’t this why we fought so hard?

This book is hard to review since much of the actual plot is very forgettable. However the media between chapters, some of the quotes and commentary, and each of the main girls stories are phenomenal. Hendrix struggles to balance his typical comedy horror but delivers a fast and fun thriller. I’d recommend this book for any fans of the horror or slasher film genre purely for the references. While I enjoyed the story the ending felt very cliché to me especially after some of the discussion the book allows.

I really like it! It's def a work made by someone who loves the original horror classics but is willing to put a twist on them to make the stories more impactful. I wish the characters were more like a family, though. When bad stuff starts happening, I really wanted them to be more supportive of each other, but they dove right into fighting, and it wears on you after awhile. So... not found family, but it's a fun time!

I think it would have been a little better with a female author.
