Alice Hoffman's stories are always so rich, this was different as the characters changed every chapter and the place stayed the same. The richest character was the farm and it will stick with me. This book was mostly sad, melancholy but not overly dramatic. It dragged at times and I felt a bit lost at times which might have been intentional.
