2.5. A little too fragmentary for my enjoyment. I kept thinking - if this was non-fiction, I’d probably like it more, because it meant that real events were strung together well and the narrative is what it is because of reality. But because it’s a mixture (Hsieh being a very real artist), the gaps felt clumsy and the references a little name-droppy. I am not sure I gained anything in particular from reading this :(

I feel like the concept of this book was really cool. I liked how it looked at performance art while also the life of the father at the same time. Idk I feel like something didn’t quite click for me to get invested in the characters.
