Great and slightly tricky to readaloud. Parts of the narration are done Yoda style, so it can be tricky. The illustrations are wonderful and it holds a good storyline. It focuses on Luke's training, but it encourages the reader as well.

Told from Yoda's perspective, this story provides some inspiring quotes from the wise Jedi Yoda. I read this book with my son and it was a perfect chance to practice my Yoda voice. It wasn't much of a story as it was more of some insightful quotes. The illustrations were fantastic and it was an overall fun read.

The pictures are fun in this book, and that’s what counts the most. The art style reminds me of the look of Click, Clack, Moo (which is a good thing). It’s the story that’s lacking. The book is set up like you’re on Dagobah, watching Luke’s training from a distance, while Yoda occasionally looks over at you and says all the lines that Yoda always says. Kind of an odd setup. Why am I on Dagobah, standing just-off-camera?

Anyway, the story doesn’t quite seem to know what it is. It’s only occasionally humorous. It doesn’t rhyme, though it sometimes seems like it should. It doesn’t approach the high standard set by Are You Scared, Darth Vader? . . . but what book could? That one is a classic—which just goes to show that the bad guys are always cooler than the good guys.

Star Wars books are never going to go out of style. At least I don't think so anyway. So imagine a book written from Yoda's perspective as Luke Skywalker goes to train at Dagobah. And how readers can become jedi LIKE Skywalker....kids will eat that up! The only thing I think....as common with picture books.....it is TOO long.

WHY DO PICTURE BOOKS HAVE TO BE SO LONG?!

I'm not even a Star Wars fan and I love this book! Works for younger readers, but older Jedi fans will appreciate the brilliant illustrations. Make this your new graduation gift.
