This book is a great book for educators just starting out teaching and want some advice, parents dealing with children that may seemingly misbehave or act out with no reason, and people wanting to learn more about interacting with individuals (especially children) with trauma. I think even veteran educators may find some of the examples helpful as they translate from the classroom.
There are times where it is quite repetitive and of obvious facts (teaching is "not about us" the teacher but the student- if you do not already have this mindset before going into teaching, teaching may not be the career for you!). There are "activities" at the end of each chapter that may be tedious and unnecessary, but can be helpful to some. I would suggest getting an ebook or printed copy for them rather than the audiobook, as I have.

Moderate: Mental illness
Minor: Cursing, Domestic abuse, Abandonment, Addiction, Alcoholism, Emotional abuse, Physical abuse, Drug abuse, Child abuse, Bullying, and Toxic relationship
The minor mentions are through the examples of the type of trauma the students have and how one may approach them within the classroom.
