(just because I think there should also be added more trigger warnings - possible to add mental health issues like PTSD, dissociative identity disorder, and ADHD)

It's so "funny" (and, yes, I'm being sarcastic). In the introductions, Rina Kent wrote that this book was not as dark as the previous one in the series, while in my opinion, it is the darkest one. The issues addressed in this book were some of the most heartbreaking and soul-shattering ever (swear, I felt the same twisting feeling as when I read Hunting Adeline 1st half of the book)

To the ones who scream in silence.

With this book, I emphasize the need to read and understand all triggers. This was not an easy read.

And I'm beyond sad and distraught thinking that so many readers are so closed-minded and homophobic and couldn't see beyond MM relationship to understand the whole other and more important topic described in the book.

Thank God for the perfectly executed banter (chemistry was out of the charts), and for transforming one of the most questionable MMCs in the greenest of the green flags ever. And thank God for the sensitivity in understanding and describing the complex behavioral development in the adolescent/ young adult age. - one undoubtedly fantastic educational read for a parent (especially parents of teens).

All the heart eyes!

Every book group I’m in hyped this book so hard I just knew they had to be overdoing it. But they actually understated how amazing it is! I am absolutely ENAMORED with Niko and Bran. Highly highly recommend the audiobook, I did an immersive read in tandem with the ebook and it was such an incredible experience.

It’s a (really) rough ride at times, but oh so worth the rollercoaster of emotions. It’s also very sweet and adorable at times. And steamy. I’m already planning when to reread it? I can’t believe how late I am to this book and these guys, but I’m here now! I’m still teary eyed from the ending. Would give it 6 stars if I could!

  • MXM
  • Enemies-to-lovers
  • Levi King's son x mafia (?) - it's interconnected but I forget how they are connected
  • I really enjoyed this book! The angst was off the charts and I ate that up! Brandon was such an amazing character and the way his perspective was written was gut wrenching.
  • Nikolai was also a character! He was so golden and sunshine, which you wouldn't expect from a dark Rina Kent romance. But he loveddddd pushing Brandon's buttons.
  • I also loved their relationships and interactions with their family. So heart-warming.
  • I feel like there wasn't as much plot.
The complication of Niko getting kidnapped (?) was brushed over and sudden. I didn't really get the context, probably because I didn't read the other interconnected books.
  • But thr characters were amazing!! Loved loved!!
