I’ll just began by saying that it was so much better than I thought it would be ?

I loved Brandon so much and it honestly hurt me to know how he felt about himself and how he never let himself be happy. And everytime he was getting better it was worse the second afterward. (Definition of one step forward and three steps back). I liked that we saw so much his struggles and how he began to be better towards himself thanks to Niko. He deserves to love himself and be happy.
Niko is the definition of being pathetically in love. I know a lot of people found his monologues cringe but I personally found them funny and I loved being in his head. I appreciate that Niko never truly abandoned Brandon and his need to know him and what was going on in his head is what saved Bran. I was a little disappointed that Niko had difficulties respecting Bran’s boundaries, mostly when I could literally feel what Bran was feeling at those moments.

I had an idea of what the past of Brandon must have been, for him to feel nauseous when people touch him. So I wasn’t surprised at the reveal but the moment after Niko saw the video 😨 Like I was not expecting Bran’s reaction to Niko seeing the video be THAT. I was so chocked !!! (Also that video was very hard to read about like, Grace got what she deserved).

Another little regret is that I would have liked to be more details and moment with Nikolai and his mental health issues as well. We saw what was going on internally for him, but I wish we got a little more.

Honorable mentions :
- Landon and Brandon’s relationship. I don’t need to say more, they were perfect and cute.
- The brotherly moments between the guys and seeing their friendship. Also Eli being a big brother to all of them.
- Levi’s chapter. It was a masterpiece.
- Landon and Niko teaming up to kill Grace (their love for Bran overpower their hatred for each other).
- Any cute moment between Bran and Niko.
- The EliAva crumbs 🤭
- The Gareth / Kayden scene (she can’t give us that and not write a book or novella about them).
- Niko jealous of a child.
- Bran possessive (we talk a lot about possessive Niko but I liked when Bran was the possessive one).
- The glimpse we got of the other couples
- The friendship showed between all of the LoG characters.

i don't even know where to start with this one. the beginning (excluding that weird ass flashback with niko - you know exactly which one) was actually pretty promising and seemed to diverge slightly from her usual schtick where she just copies and pastes existing characters and scenes, but after it got like halfway in she just reverted to her usual tactics. i think the quality of writing has actually gotten worse with this book, but at best it's stayed the exact same imo. i hated the dialogue and ended up skimming almost all of it. i had somewhat high hopes since it was an MM romance and i thought she would switch up the relationship dynamics but ultimately it didn't matter if she did or did not since it was formulaic to a T and contained the same scenes as the previous LOG books just with niko and bran.

i though niko for sure would be different to the other mmcs since he has a wildly different personality but it turned out that once he got his own book it didn't matter. he wasn't completely ooc but in the self plagiarised scenes it just felt like his own character and temperament was second to the character of her older mmcs. it was interesting to see why bran was so tortured but the pacing of that plotline was so strange. i wish she went a little further into why niko never slept in a bed too but i can't tell if that was a plothole or just purposely ignored. the whole dynamic between them, at least from brandon's side, felt confusing; i still have no idea why bran loves niko so much - at least we knew niko was obsessed at first sight (literally) which is understandable since he's pretty chaotic, but i needed more than that from brandon. it doesn't really fit with his character in the previous books.

overall this had potential, and i liked the first half, but the repetition and the lack of originality (amongst other things) made it fall flat for me.

“Even if you hate yourself, I’ll love you for the both of us.”

pros: nikolai's humor (minus that one horrific chapter opening), brandon overcoming his struggles, their relationship, the spice

cons: "lotus flower" (what a mouthful), kolya (bro really?)

“You’re fucking crazy.”
“About you. Always.”

the audiobook was really fun and enjoyable to listen to. this read is for entertainment, not for life philosophy. it wasn't one of my favs, but i had a good time.

i actually wish there were more moments with nikolai and his dad bc they had a really cute father-son relationship.

This book deserves an infinite amount of stars. Holy shiiiiiit I love this series so damn much. It seriously has a chokehold on me. Rina takes you on a complete rollercoaster of emotion throughout this book.
Watching Nikolai and Brendan's relationship bloom, to see how hard they love each other and how they calm each other during their storms is just… gah! Chef's kiss!!!!
Niko's tattoo for Brandon 😍
Brandon and Landon's conversation at the hospital 🥰
White mask finally revealed 🤯
I cannot believe this is Rina's first MM romance. She fucking killed it!
To sum up, I loved it. It was romantic, heartbreaking, beautiful and at times a true rom-com. Who knew Niko could bring out the funny!?

Words cannot describe how much I have been needing this book in my life. As soon as I caught a glimpse of the twins at the end of the Royal Elite Series I knew I'd need their stories so I can find out what kind of men they would be shaped into. After now having both their books I can honestly say I am so proud of both of them. I believe that Lan and Bran deserve everything and more in this universe.
I am also especially happy about them being able to work towards mending their relationship as brothers, and us getting to see their relationship be as strong as when they were kids has healed my heart.

As for Nikolai I knew he would be my favorite from the Heathens and I am so glad to say that he is. As much as I love the unhinged kinks of Jeremy, the heart and teddy bear personality that Nikolai has is so perfect. I love how effortlessly funny he is. He is honestly such a lovable character.

By the end of the book I am so proud of them all in this book.

The only reason why I haven't given the book 5 stars is because of some minor nit picking stuff. First being that Bran is British and uses American measurements. And the second being that their intimacy moved very quickly with not much discussions for Bran to get used to everything.
