This is probably my favourite book of the year. It's characters are well developed and it's plot has everything you could need in a dark romance book.

I'm so torn about this book. On one hand, I finished it in less than three days, and it's long. So I obviously enjoyed it very much. I loved the "I hate him, but I want him, and I hate that I want him" dynamic and them as a couple. But Niko's POV was written in a painfully irritating style, and sometimes, it was hard not to cringe. Also, why were they even mafia children if there was literally nothing about the mafia in the book? I was hoping for some mafia-related plotline, but nope, it was 100% just romance, and the conflicts were also mostly internal. I'm not saying that's a con on the list; it just seems redundant. They could all just be "regular" uni students and it wouldn't change a thing.

God of Fury features Brandon, an artist with an inferiority complex and borderline personality disorder, Nikolai, a golden retriever mafia prince with a craving for violence, and Kolya, Nikolai's very vocal and opinionated penis 😂 I smiled so much during this read, I loved how unapologetically cringey Niko was, and am always gushy for a gay awakening trope. It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows however; while the other books had dark themes and outsider “bad guys”, this one looked deeper into mental health and internal sabotage. This rawness definitely won me over as my favorite of the series.

I'm always a fan of MM romance. I hadn't expected Bran's trauma and the extent of his damage. Niko's mental health issues were more expected based on the previous books. I'm glad the author didn't make it so that the characters' mental health issues magically healed when their relationship problems were settled since that's not how it works in real life. I really liked how it showed that they continue to love each other but also still continue their own journeys in trying to find treatments/coping strategies.

Read this to explore a new genre and for shits and giggles (also because it was lighter)

Thoughts (spoilers?)
- -Good depiction of mental health, and not overly exaggerated which was nice
-i imagined a Disney stitch mask on accident and could not stop laughing
-Nikolai, kindly stop talking to your dick, Everytime I thought it stopped it came back
-Bran’s dad’s chapter is iconic someone buy that man a drink for the shit he puts up with

All and all good experience

A recommendation I found on TikTok and an impulse buy from Thrift Books minutes later and I have zero regrets.  This was fucking amazing!!

Oh my god, I am as obsessed with this book as Nikolai is to Brandon.  The way this book had me kicking my feet and smiling like an idiot.  This book was literally so good.  It felt like reading a fan-fiction (in a good way) and even though I’m not a fan of first person point of view in spicy books this book is the exception.  10/10.

Nikolai was genuinely so hilarious.  I absolutely love him and his total lack of shame.  I laughed out loud so many times because of this bisexual bitch.

Brandon and Nikolai really balanced each other out and the more their relationship progressed the more this really showed.  While they did go back and forth a bit it was never anything too much.

The aesthetic and format of this book was so beautiful.  I loved the playlist that was included in the beginning as well.  Overall 1000/10 🙌
