As much as I loved the first book and it left me sooo sad, this just didn’t do it for me. Loved the part about Cloud, but for the rest.... to much repetition of the 1st book and it just didn’t grab me. This is the 1st book from Kristin Hannah that didn’t leave me in tears. So I won’t give up on reading her books, just a little disappointed about this one

This is the second book in the series, and I gotta say, I liked the first book a whole lot more. I got sick of the main character ruining her life and her coma dreams, the teenager daughter was annoying, and the only time I got invested in the story is when the main characters mom went into detail about her life growing up. Which means the book only got interesting about 3/4 of the way through. I struggled to get through is book, which was disappointing, cause I loved the first one.

I am so glad that I decided to read the second book. I really needed to get the background knowledge about Tully and her mom but also wanted to know how the family coped after their loss. This one didn’t shatter me like the first book, thank goodness, but there were times when I just wanted to reach through the book and shake sense into some of the characters.

I had a tough time with this story: it revolves around several people going through some very hard times. One of them is a teenager who turns to cutting in an effort to deal with her pain. Things are not much better for the adults in the story, who are all dealing with their own pain. The story lines are intertwined, so the suffering takes place simultaneously and there is very little relief. The personal journeys that each takes are moving and kept me involved but it was painful being along for their rides.

Wow, what a great emotional read. Laughed and cried. Hits too close to home if you've recently lost someone special.

Firefly Lane is one of my favorite books of all time but Fly Away not so much. It's not what I expected. It didn't grab my attention and therefore I skimmed the book and read the last chapter. I'm disappointed. Having said that, I still love Kristin! I've enjoyed almost all of her books. She's one of my favorite authors and I will continue to be a fan:)
