I absolutely adored this. I loved the hero and the heroine, and their banter was absolutely hilarious. Eva Devon’s writing was delightful, and really captured the older writing style I love in historical romance, whilst also adding her own modern touch to it. This read very much like Pride & Prejudice (my favorite book ever), which is what I’ve been looking for in historical’s since I starting reading this genre.

God, I absolutely devoured this. This is genuinely one of my favorite books I’ve read all year. I’m so excited to continue reading Eva Devon’s backlist because this was an absolute delightful read.

Enjoyable romance

Edward and Georgiana are quite well-matched. Their feelings have plenty of room to grow and mature into real love. The journey is satisfying and doesn't leave the reader wanting.

The writing itself is a bit uneven: mostly smooth, but a few instances where it felt rushed or unpolished.

Overall I did enjoy this story.

This book was a bit slow going , but ultimately I enjoyed the characters and the relationship.

Edward is the Duke and is used to being put in situations where he might "ruin' a woman and have to marry her. When he meets Georgiana, he threatens to kiss her and she doesn't stop him, and unfortunately they are caught by his aunt and required to marry.

Georgiana ends up being more like himself and to be better to the duchy than he expects.  They have some miscommunication because Edward is autistic (this comes up later on), but Georgiana loves him and they work together to have a happy marriage.  Oh, and he has a horse rescue ...

It was fine, good enough to read pretty quickly, but nothing that stands out.
