This book chewed me up, spit me out, gave me a lickin', and then flushed me down the fiery pits of Hell. It left me emotionally distressed and threatened on many occasions to tear my heart out from my chest. I have not felt this undone by a book in a very long time. Thank God for epilogues!!!

Things are not going well for Grateful and Rick. Everyone seems to be destined to come between them. Enemies plant seeds of doubt in Grateful's head about the faithfulness of her Caretaker. And boy, do those seeds take root. Dreadful conflict is wrought upon the two intertwined, and this time, it might just tear them apart from each other for good.

As if this wasn't bad enough, the enemy plans to remove Grateful from her home, and her seat of magic. The Book of Blood and Bones seems ripe for the taking for any supernatural evil out and about. If Grateful can't keep the book out of enemy hands, then the world will fall to Hell and her personal problems will be the least of her worries.

This was a fun and sexy romp with supernaturals, the second in the series. I wasn't too sure about this series after reading the first book (which I enjoyed), but the action definitely picked up in this second installment. I really enjoyed this book and I'm ready to take on #3.

I enjoyed the first book in the series The Ghost and the Graveyard and Kick the Candle was just as good. Really enjoying the story lines and looking forward to the next book Queen of the Hill.

Second book in the series and I loved it just as much as the first, the plot thickens as you go through and I have read this book series 3/4/ times now and it still makes me extremely happy to read.. Would recommend it to anyone into romance/adult novels.

I enjoyed this installment much more than the first. Grateful came across a little more grown up and the addition of Poe was enjoyable.

I still don't like Rick's character, he annoys me and I can't work out why. It could be because of how forceful he is? And how the entire relationship seems to be based around sex. I don't generally have a problem with that, this one just feels like it's lacking depth.

All in all, I enjoy the world and the growing story of the Monk's Hill Witch. I will be continuing the series for sure.

This book just was not as good as the first book. I felt like Grateful whined too much. it was not as interesting and by the end of the book I felt like I was plodding through the story, not enjoying it.

Ok, this story is not really progressing like I thought it would. While Grateful is finally becoming the badass she's used to be, she still has a long way to go. Not sure I still trust Rick though. It will be interesting to see how that progresses in the next book and what new crap she'll get them into.
