This is the continuation of the previous story starring Cassie. She's landed this job in North Dakota. Lots of perks, but a turf war has also come to thos money rich town...because of the new found oil.

I love how Cassie stands up for her rights, but is also a fair and level-headed leader, too.

The involvement of young children into the fray was distressing (to say the least). Lots of knuckle heads...that are drug users.

Really liked how the story progressed. No miracle events, but also...it didn't always go their way (which is more believable).

Looking forward to the last book in the quartet.

Not bad. Just a little drawn out. The characters have potential and I'd be interested in what happens to them. Not sure I thought the story was believable.

Not my favorite Box. Seems more like fanfic for Breaking Bad than an original idea. This one was more gruesome and violent than his Joe Pickett books. If C.J. Box keeps writing like this...I'll probably keep reading him, but I won't like it as much.

The primary storyline was very engaging. The secondary storyline started in the middle and never closed. Without a follow on found that disappointing.
