As a standalone, not much happens in this volume; it seems to be cut mostly because of the length, which is comparable to the first. The story continues, with Persephone and Hades being put where they cannot easily avoid each other. The antagonists ramp up more, and it's clearly being set up for more action to come. No complaints, but the tension was low. I look forward to finding out what will be paid off from this.

I liked this one way more than the first. I think Hades and Persephone’s relationship got better and less… creepy, although that feeling/angle to it will never go away as is the nature of their story. Looking forward to the next one!
