This would have been an excellent book if the author hadn’t dragged everything out so much. Bill, the main character was hard to be sympathetic to because he flew off the handle all the time and never seemed to learn from his mistakes. I knew of several of the plot twists before they were revealed but the suspense was pretty good. Again, it would have been better if the author had just not dragged out so many of the situations so long. The narrator was excellent.

I started this book last night, and finished it tonight. The synopsis reminded me of something from a Criminal Minds storyline, which is a good sign for me since bingeing Criminal Minds is one of my favorite hobbies.

The book has many twists and turns, and I suspected pretty much everyone as the villain at some point during the book...the resolution was layered, and it was fun to figure it out with the main character. Bring Her Home is the perfect mystery to read this summer - you'll tear through it as quickly as possible to find out what happened. I'm definitely interested in reading more David Bell books. Thank you for my early copy!

Two teenage girls go for a walk and are reported missing. After two days one is found dead and the other severely beaten almost beyond recognition in the woods. Bill Price, the father of one of the girls is on a mission to find out what happened during those two days and who kept the girls captive.

It is very difficult to say anything more about the plot without giving the story away. This book is full of twists and turns. It started out real great and kept me engrossed trying to guess what actually happened. There were a few discrepancies in the book like for some reason instead of reporting to the police everybody keeps talking to Bill Price. But overall a fun and fast read and will look forward to reading more by David Bell.

Many thanks to the publisher & NetGalley for this advance reader copy in exchange for my honest and fair review.

Although the dialogue was a bit clunky, the character development was lacking, I guessed the twist early on, and the ending was more lighthearted than felt realistic, I did FLY through this in just a few days. It was hard to put down and definitely a page turner, but otherwise a really average mystery/thriller for me.

The book had a mildly interesting premise but I could not stand the main character. All he does the entire book is accuse people and drive places he would never in reality by allowed. He does nothing and the plot only advances because things happen off the pages and are then told to the main character.

When Bill Price's teen daughter, Summer, and her friend, Haley, go missing, he is hopeful when he is called to the hospital to sit with his injured daughter. After being questioned by the police, issues surrounding his relationship with his dead wife and his daughter surface. He starts to wonder if he really knows his daughter. As time passes, he begins to wonder if his daughter is actually the one lying in the hospital bed, or is she the one whose body was so beaten, it was difficult to identify?
Bill tries to understand what brought his daughter to this fate, and what he could have done to foresee it. Is there anything he can do to prevent others having the same outcome, and do those close to him truly care for him, or are they hiding something?

Ok, I have to say that readers are in for a real treat with this book. Mr. Bell brings a rich storyline with endearing and complex characters that will have you all in until the last page!

From the first moment that I opened this book and started reading, I was hooked. I felt the pain of Bill as he tried to cope with the tragic accident to his daughter. Through the investigation, Bill learned that he really did not know anything about his daughter. They had really grown apart after the loss of his wife. I liked that the lead detective was on a first name bases with Bill. It made Detective Hawkins more relatable as he too experienced so many emotions through the whole ordeal.

Another reason that I liked this book so much is because the author did not try to force me to go down one path knowing that there would be a twist. Therefore, it felt natural as the characters had their secrets revealed at the appropriate times in the story. Bring Her Home is a tour de force from start to end!
