Cute, as I am extremely protective of Shakespeare and 12th night in particular I wasn’t super impressed by the overlapping references to the entire canon, rather than committing to a singular  base plot rather a combination of several overly complicated Shakespearean tropes . Simplicity is sometimes the best choice in romance.

This book is a love letter to Shakespeare and there is no denying it! I loved the cheesy mentions of businesses, locations and streets that were plays on Shakespeare terms. It made me smile every time!

I had a fun time reading about a town dedicated to the love of literature. It was a fast and easy read. It was also perfect for summer as the story takes place from June to September.

The characters of Miranda and Adam were interesting but I never connected with Adam as the novel is only from Miranda’s perspective. The Barnes family dynamics were engaging as we followed their struggles but it felt a little scattered as it was a part of many other plots.

In spite of the multiple plot points, I flew through the story and had a good time with the characters and town. It was a solid three star read!

I received an arc via Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.

This book was wonderful. It was cheesy, romantic, camp, and full of many, many references to the Bard. Some people may find that annoying or over the top, but it made the book so fun for me. I loved the setting, the town was quirky and full of characters. The Barnes family was wonderful and I'm rooting for them all to get their happy endings.  Moving onto the main couple, Miranda and Adam have a past, and the question is whether or not they have a future. She was great, a multi-talented woman, very much the middle child that she is. Adam was charming and brought arguably the most important character, Miss Lucille, to the table.

The characters talk about how they feel like they're back in high school as they're brought back to their hometown, and it was nice to see them mature and work through their differences this time around, in a way that did not happen back when they first knew each other.

I recommend this book if you like: second chances, animals, theatre, familial relationships, fun side characters.
I do not recommend this book if you hate: cheesiness, Shakespeare.
