I loved this book! It was a hard read, it brought up a lot of emotions and touched on a lot of tough topics. It was fantastically written. I felt everything and saw everything the main character experienced and I was totally immersed in this book

 This story was perfection, the greatest retelling of the Iliad I have ever read. Not only did it make the women characters, giving life to characters that never got that chance, even the men were worked on, fleshed out.

I have to admit the part that let this story grab onto my heart is the way Brisies' life as a slave was described by her. It is easy to tell stories full of hate, but it is harder, and far more interesting to write a story that works with how she was in the Iliad, almost loving in her behavior.

I am obsessed, and cannot wait to see how Pat weaves other women's stories, with pain, love, and womanhood.
