Just couldn’t get into it. Felt like the author was trying too hard to replicate Mary Oliver’s beautiful prose. If looking for an ecological memoir, I would recommend Braiding Sweatgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer.

Full disclosure that I’m not a huge nature girlie so perhaps this wasn’t exactly for me. I really appreciated the language the author used and her beautiful description of the creatures in her backyard and how they are adjusting to climate change. She wove stories from her own life fairly seamlessly into the story. I understand this was a slow meditation but I kind of hate meditating so this was meh to me.
