Another enjoyable stream of consciousness as one mind encounters lots of other individuals. I thought the first tale with the man on the plane with the dog was captivating, I got a little less engrossed in the middle but was enjoying again towards the end. Clever last paragraphs. A particular style of writing. I would like to read more Rachel Cusk.

my least favorite of the trilogy but also i was very tired a lot of the time i was reading it so maybe that had an impact. they’re not the kind of books you can easily read while exhausted

Oh Rachel Cusk you've gone and done it again. Gotta give this series a BIG kudos it is so precisely fun and endearing, the way Cusk paints characters through such a small space of time with each of them is so masterful, and they each brought unique and interesting outlooks and philosophies on life. This was balanced with genuine heart and humour which was delightful. I especially loved the dinner party with Welsh man, Sophia and Luis.

As always, she stuck the landing with a last phone call from her son, toe dipping into a deep sense of being lost but sincerely trying, which was an emotional gut punch.

Such a pleasure to read her writing.

So many understated sad funny moments in here. Culminating in the ending. Written with such delicate unraveling that you wonder if it was supposed to be funny.

Every “interview” in here makes me laugh.
