I can't decide which I'm more pissed off about - how dull this whole thing was, or how it cuts off with no resolution to make me buy a sequel.
I guess for this whole trilogy I finally understand what people mean when they talk about looking at a car crash - you know it's terrible, but it's so fascinatingly terrible you just keep on looking. Oi.

[3.5 stars] love triangles are so hard when 2/3 of them are still super immature and one of them had to grow up at a young age because he felt responsible for all the younger people in his life. conrad fisher they could never make me hate you.

It was fine.
I didn’t like how long it took to know things like her age, why her name is belly etc
I also hated how whiny she was. She seemed to act more like a 10 year old than a 16 year old to me.
I also didn’t feel like I really knew Conrad. Like I never got why she liked him SO much. He seems awful, even in the flashbacks.
Idk. It was a cute little beach read but i probably wouldn’t recommend it to others

⚠️TW: cancer ⚠️
💭 Overall thoughts:
I was nervous going into it, while I had friends who liked it, the negative ratings on Goodreads kind of scared me. I felt like it was on the young side, but then again, it is YOUNG ADULT, so maybe I should have lowered my expectations. It was a cute read, and I will continue reading the next book, but I don't think I'd do a reread. 3.5/5 ⭐
⚠️ SPOILERS IN FORM OF MY PLAY-BY-PLAY THOUGHTS ⚠️
Oh.. Interesting.. I wonder if I'm going to be team Jeremiah or team Conrad..
I feel like it might be sad.. the mom is in taking a nap when she normally greets them? Is she sick?
I like the flashbacks.
"You look thin" again.. making me think Susannah is sick.. does she have cancer? Belly's mom was teary when she saw her, so maybe she knows..
How old is Belly supposed to be? 15? 16? She's a little whiny.. I know the flashbacks she's obviously younger, but constantly talking about how it's only her and she's the outcast.. she's had her whole life to get used to that..
Ooh, so she's had cancer. Is it getting worse? If she dies I'm going to cry.
Also... Is Belly her nickname or a real name??
We just met Taylor and I already don't like her..
If Taylor knows that Belly is "obsessed" with Conrad, why would he be the one wants to go after?
Aha, nickname!
DP!! Cam is my guy! I can't live without DP.
In my romantasy books I typically enjoy the overprotective MMC, but it's annoying me on Conrad.
It makes me sad she has such low confidence.
I think Susannah and Mr. Fisher are going to get a divorce.. or they are just pulling away from each other because they know she's dying and maybe he can't/doesn't want to accept it..
Ope. I called it. Divorce.. 😔
TAYLOR AND STEVEN WERE KISSING?!?!
But also, Belly is being a bitch about it.. like, I get being surprised and upset, but to call your supposed best friend a slut.. nah man.
Ya know.. it might not be a divorce after all.. I might be right about the other thing.. she might be stopping treatment on her cancer..
Poor Jeremiah.. being turned down by Belly..
Ugh. I knew she was sick and I still freaking cried when Laurel told Belly it was back and had spread.
Belly's age is showing when she doesn't give Cam an explanation of why she stopped talking to him.
I was wrong about her giving up and letting the sickness take over.
Soo.. she ends up dating Conrad...
