I loved seeing Alex and Eli grow and mature and further deepen their relationship. They faced some hard things together and were stronger and more secure in their relationship.

I also love the side characters in this series, but especially Kuzy, Jessica, and Jo! Jessica is scary, Kuzy is hilarious and fiercely protective, and Jo is just amazing!

Lads if this book is the question, the answer is yes.

I didn't give the first book 5 stars because I felt like a lot of it did move quite quickly, but with this one it was just perfect. We don't have to faff around questioning this relationship, we just get to see the world which happens around them and because of them.

I loved all the soft moments with them together, just being happy. And I still loved all of the hockey guys. Honestly, the whole reason I picked up the second book was for Kuzy.

I think also the points of conflict and upset in this book felt very natural, and they fit nicely into the world of this book. They haven't solved homophobia by the end, but you definitely are left with a sense of nice resolution.

Literally the tiniest flaw is that in the first book we spend next to no time with Eli and his skating. Like when I wrote my review of it, I didn't even mention how little it was touched on because I literally forgot that was something he did. So, and this is a spoiler,

when he gets his second injury and can't skate competitively again, I'm not actually that sad about it because I never got to know him as a skater

. This also applies to characters like the Morgans who literally aren't even characters. When they're introduced in book one, you think they'll be Eli's friends, but they never come back except in passing mention. I do wish Eli could have some friends outside of Alex. Even Cody isn't really outside of Alex.

Anyway, I'm definitely gonna read book three once my library finally gets it in.

I don't think this needed to be a second book... why couldn't books 1 and 2 be combined? I feel like I wasted my money on this book because I wanted to know what happened in their relationship and I was already invested. It was kind of boring. Like even the stuff that should have been BIG didn't result in much of anything.

the conflicts were resolved a little too easily for me and the structure of the book didn't flow as well as in the first one. with that being said, i'll happily read about these two being in love for many more books

They’re such a cute and healthy couple.

Their communication as a couple throughout both books *chefs kiss* and the way they grow and learn together *swoon*

Definitely would read again and I can’t wait for future books in this series.

Hello E.L Massey just cannot write a bad book? I have so many thoughts on this one but I cant write them all down because I can’t write eloquently. This is one of my favorite reads of the year, it was so cute and romantic and also so gut wrenching. A very important read for me and I’m so glad I could read this <3 there’s something so lovely about seeing yourself in a book ALSO TEAM AS FAMILY?! CRYING. SOBBING ON THE FLOOR. THEY WAY THEY CARE SM ABOUT EACH OTHER!! GOODBYE….

This book was absolutely amazing. The characters, the relationships, the humor, the mental health rep, it all was SO good.

Eli and Alex are such absolute idiots for one another and I am here for it. I really liked seeing their bond grow. Their characters and overall relationship was written so well, there were flaws and it wasn’t always perfect but they had great communication and worked so well together.

I’m still laughing at how extra Alex was when it came to Eli, just proving to be a total lovesick idiot for him. Like going and buying so, so, so many bananas only to realize too late that he needed plantains instead.

Hawk and Bells are so cute as well. I loved how all the Hell Hounds’ just wanted to pet Hawk, and as soon as her vest was off they gave her all the attention.

The Hell Hounds’ are all so loveable. Kuzy and his WhatsApp group chat… that “isn’t” a cover for the Russian hockey mafia. Jeff who reminds me of the team's mom, who is so tired but always there even if there will be sarcastic comments made. Rads having so many wholesome dad moments. And how they all were so supportive of their teammates. Ugh, I love them all so much. Though, Jessica definitely needs a raise at this point.

This is hands down one of my favorite comfort series.

The romance is great and everything but I just. I love that this reads like it was written by a hockey fan. For hockey fans. The author clearly understands hockey culture and manages to paint an optimistic vision of it that still *feels* like hockey culture with all its good and bad and everything. The author also trusts the reader to know basic hockey things. Like you don't have to know hockey to enjoy it! But this book isn't going to explain every little hockey thing to you the way these books so often do.
Its so refreshing :D

overall, i enjoyed book one more than this one because i felt like the last quarter of this book really dragged pace wise. i think some of the plot points should’ve been shuffled around to avoid that (and there was also some retconning going on regarding alex and eli’s conversations about

marriage

that bugged me.) i did, however, absolutely love the scene where alex is

begging to be let into eli’s hospital room: he’s my boyfriend. please. like??? my heart.

and i will probably be rereading this book once a year for the rest of my life because it’s such a comfort to me.
