I love Tenley and Hayden. And I wish I could have read this before I read Clipped Wings months ago...

I started this while I was waiting for another book to arrive and I was not disappointed!! This was the perfect prequel to the story of Hayden and Tenley. It is giving me similar vibes to the After series. I can’t wait to jump into the rest of the series.

Cupcakes and Ink is a very short story, 60 pages long, but it is meant as an introduction to Tenley and Hayden and shows us how they first met. Hayden is a tattooist and his aunt owns Serendipity, and also rented out an apartment to Tenley. Tenley is from out of town and moved to her new apartment to start a fresh.
The full story, Clipped Wings, is based off a Twilight fan fiction, which I have read and really enjoyed, so I do know the past of both of these characters, but that said I was very interested in seeing how this story had been changed to fit into a new market.

Tenley and Hayden are just as interesting and intriguing as I remember them to be, and Hayden's friends are a unique mix of characters that make the tattoo shop a fun place to be. I really enjoyed getting to see the tentative friendship build between Hayden and Tenley, and Cupcakes and Ink is a great starter to the main course.
Helena has done a good job at introducing the characters and building on the world in her books, I am looking forward to making a start on Clipped Wings very soon.

Great Quickie from Helena Hunting. Loved the build up to Tenley & Hayden's story. Definitely left me wanting more! Excellent narration by Elizabeth Louise & Jason Carpenter.

Yessss, I’ve been looking for a tattoo parlour romance series since I devoured Hawk/The Men of Bird’s Eye series last year. This was just a little prequel novella to intro the characters but so far so good.

I’m so excited I stumbled upon this! I hope the series lives up to my expectations. Some of the other novellas are available on the Audible Plus catalogue too.

Received the ARC and Bloody Hell!! I love this story and this other book is a great surprise. Hayden and Tenley are one of my all time fav couple. Helena Hunting is absolutely the best new published author. I've been reading her stories since they where WiPs and I'm so happy she finally got to share her awesome stories as published books for the rest of the world to read, and I can just say she will never disappoint. Can't wait to get the rest and hope for audiobooks as well.

I don't think I realized when I bought this that it was a short story/novella. Essentially all you get here is the wind up, but it did make me want to read the next book, so it achieved it's goal.
