This isn’t a contemporary romance book, but it is - it feels more like a book about life. About coming to the middle of your life, confronting grief, rediscovering who you are, but all with sprinkles of romance throughout. The most loving parts of the book were when the romance and grief intersect.

I have my critiques with this book, like how it felt like a queer plotline for straight people. The angst felt lackluster.

But I enjoyed this, the pros outweighed the cons.

Blubbering mess

Mariana’s writing never disappoints, each book she has written has given me so many feelings.

Aurora’s story is refreshing and heartbreaking at the same time. Leaving her former life behind and starting again in the town she grew up in. Everything in this story lined up perfectly.

Once again, Mariana has confirmed that I absolutely love slow burning romances and can bring the patience to read a book of 500+ pages in a day if the story captivates me.

She made me cry, she literally made me cry. If that doesn’t tell you to read this book!

This book was so good. Single, grumpy, silverfox dad and sunshin. AMAZING.

I loved everything about this book. The story itself was really good and I liked it wasn't just nice happy story I really like mention of grief and everyting that comes with it. I criwd multiple times but once they were happy tears.

A story about loss and finding oneself again. This book takes you on a journey through Aurora’s life. She has dealt with a lot of hardships and has to start over in life, but she’s as positive as can be. While discovering who she is as a person, she makes a connection with her landlords son and even the man himself.
This book is the definition of slow burn, grumpy x sunshine and small town romance. I wasn’t certain about it for around half the book, but the last half had me in such a chokehold. It isn’t big on the spicy & steamy romance (root, anyone??) but i found that i enjoyed their deeper connection than a surface level romance. Ora bora & tobers 4evr 😭

The man, the myth, the ultimate DILF… Tobias Rhodes

What more can I say other than I loved this book? It was so comforting watching Aurora heal with the help of the Rhodes’, Yuki, and Clara. Watching her connect back to her roots and develop friendships was so heartwarming.

This book was so atmospheric! I swear every time I opened it up I smelled pine needles and rain. I will definitely be rereading this, it was such a feel-good story.
