Laura Bates delivers another well-researched, sharp, and timely work. The message here is extremely important — tackling the insidious ways sexism is being repackaged and reinforced in the digital age. It’s the kind of book that makes you stop, think, and recognise patterns you might otherwise overlook.

That said, it did feel repetitive at times. Some chapters circle the same ground, which slightly dulled the impact for me as a reader. Still, the overall weight of the evidence and clarity of the message make it worth the read.

What an utterly terrifying but important book. Everybody should read this book.

In a world where we can be told that the job of feminism is done, it is sobering to see just how wrong that is and how big an issue gender inequality continues to be but in a more insidious and subtle form than we have previously known.

If the aim was to make me angry, this book well and truly succeeded.
