So different from anything else I’ve read. I still don’t even know if I enjoyed it or if I’m baffled by it. Maybe both.

This book was breathtakingly inventive at best and oddly awkward at worst. The author has a very precise command of language, especially towards the end. She has a gift in chiseling a sentiment down to it's raw meaning with her unique sentence structure. Like an autopsy of words. But if I'm being honest some parts were hit or miss. The narrative is very voice-driven, providing the strictly necessary details as we follow it without giving us much context on the relationships. And maybe this is because of the obsessive tone, but not all the metaphors were striking.
