THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ELLA FOR THIS REC!!!

this was a rare book that did exactly what i needed it to do; it was short and sweet, and just felt so real and perfect.
I saw myself a lot in phoebe; the harshness and awkwardness of her around the people she loves.
It's also been a LONG time since i read something written in diary format, so that was nice :)

AND PHOEBE AND EMMA. PHOEBE REALIZING HOW MUCH SHE LOVES EMMA. oh my gosh i need a sequel that's just them being together.

i love this book so much ajfasjdfaksjdlfajldf :)

Love is for Losers by Wibke Brueggemann is a YA story of 15 year old Phoebe in her GCSE year, with her doctor mother off helping everyone else, and her best friend having fallen off the planet as she's gotten a boyfriend.

This is written as a diary, which works so well as you get such an insight into Phoebe and her feelings.  I enjoyed this book, and wanted to see what would happen next.  I thought the situation was well created, and Phoebe's feelings of abandonment, uncertainty and stress was well written.

P.S  Love is for Losers  by Wibke Brueggemann was published on 21st January, and is available from  Amazon ,  Waterstones  and  Bookshop.org .

P.P.S You can follow Wibke Brueggemann on  Instagram .

P.P.P.S I was given this book in exchange for an unbiased review, so my thanks to NetGalley and to  Pan Macmillan .

This book did have some really good moments and the writing reminds me of reading an old diary with how self-centred Phoebe is. It was really easy to read and I liked all of the characters but I just wish it had more substance. It has a sweet lead romance and did well touching on some really hard topics like loss but I left it feeling like everything was superficial. Almost all the humour also didn't land which didn't help.
