“It was messy and hot and it felt like the movies, when two people who belong together find each other and collide. They combust. They stare at one another in awe because what are the odds that you find this ever in a lifetime?”

I enjoyed this book all the way through, I loved the work the family dynamic put in to become what they were at the end as well as the friendships shown.

The last 100 though pages really did drone on unnecessarily, the therapy sessions repeating exactly what we just read, the miscommunication (but talking to everyone else),
the Mark and Vashti problem

I think that last half is what dropped my reading experience though I still loved the story

All in all, I would recommend to others as it’s heartwarming and a easy story to get into

This book wasn't for me. I'm not a romance reader but was trying to branch out. I felt like it was very predictable so if you're looking for a traditional romance this is for you. It's definitely about healing in relationships. I loved the therapy parts and the friendship banter. I felt like there's way too much internal reflection for me.

i appreciate how this story shows the benefits of therapy. I found the characters loveable. Towards the end of the novel, there were a lot of spicy scenes, and I wish there was more conversations between the two main characters and their back stories

4.5 - such a lovely story of loss, grief, and second chances. There were a few things that felt like a stretch to me, or maybe I’m just jaded because my marriage crumbled in much the same way…without the happier ending.
Beautifully written though, and I’m excited for Soledad’s story next!
