It's hard to review this since there are so many different stories. Some have the poignant portrayals of faith Tolstoy is so good at writing. Some are totally forgettable.

I re-read Lev Tolstoy, delighting myself with the influential texts of The Devil and Other Stories. The author of vast and dense novels and novels shows his talent in brief yet forceful and full of symbolism and criticism reports directed both to society of the late 19th century regarding the human spirit. The short story 'Three deaths' is my favourite for combining subtlety and consistency, as for the criticism of vain Christianity and the recurrence of death in his works.
