This book was even more odd than the first one! I felt like I had no idea what was going on about 95% of the time, but I was still enjoying the ride. The characters are still interesting and the plot is so cool, if like… hard to follow. These are the books that I feel like I can’t recommend to people, but I still enjoy them. If that makes sense.

*If you read Gideon the Ninth and ended the book with a lot of interest and hope for the plot being expanded later in the series, definitely read Harrow despite all that I’m about to say about it.*

This book is agonizingly slow until it’s slow and not agonizing and then it’s breakneck pace.

Looking back, I find myself frustrated that so many scenes were included (and descriptive) that could have been left out or had their frequency cut down significantly. I waded through what felt like a lot of mud out of pure hope and anticipation for the series.

This could have been a very high four for me. The ending saved the series for me but it did not save the book. It did save the rating I guess though. This was a 1.5 star level of enjoyment for me until the 60% mark where it was a 3.5, and then by the 80% mark it was a 4.5 star level of enjoyment.
