This was an interesting introduction to the series and characters. The art is hauntingly beautiful and so detailed. I have so many questions that I hope get answered in the subsequent volumes!

Emotionally unavailable mother but there is a reason for it. Basically it might be not a good idea to read if you are very sensitive to tiger mom but like I said, there is a mostly rational explanation for mother's behavior and the comic does not try to downplay the effects it has on the children now as grown ups.

This graphic novel was gorgeously, creepily illustrated and excellently, hilariously written. I loved all the witty remarks from the characters and especially the sibling banter between the two twins. The art style was very unique and stylized, and everything from the color palette to the line quality gave the story a sharpness and eerie feeling lurking beneath the recognizable and mundane city backdrop
I also loved the way that the notoriously demanding and cold Asian parenting style of the mother was paralleled with the issue of a non-human demon eater not knowing how to raise kids as humans and not rub off her "badness" onto them.
I can't wait for the rest of this trilogy to come out!
