Despite the very slow pace, Lucifer's transition from innocence and naivety to pride, embrace of debauchery, and the belief he could defeat God still felt too rushed to me. I really enjoyed parts of it, but the rest felt like a slog. It didn't help that I'm personally not a fan of flowery language, although I admit it was appropriate, given the subject matter.

Oh heavens, yes! I love how we see the path towards Lucifer's fall. It's deliciously painful, because he was curious and he asked questions that were really valid, they even make you question yourself, for example: was God good because he was good or because he said so?
And Michael and Lucifer's relationship *chef kiss* even when we all know how Lucifer ended, it's painful to read how much they loved each other and how far Lucifer went for a future TOGETHER.
It was a-ma-zing and reading it with "Say yes to heaven" by Lana, complements it beautifully.

man oh man does the prose make for a strenuous and dragged out reading experience. this interpretation of Lucifer as a character unfortunately just is not compelling to me and introducing 20 new characters every chapter makes for a wholly confusing mess.
