Sometimes reading children's classics as an adult doesn't work: we are too jaded to see the charm and find the story twee instead of whimsical. But in this case, I was utterly delighted by Gobbolino, who is born in a witch's cave but longs to be a kitchen cat, and his search for a home that would accept him. His struggles to find security and safety moved me, and I would recommend this book to all cat-loving adults and children.

Just a simple cute story :’) Definitely not my type of book though, I found it quite hard to read and enjoy as it’s a children’s book. But the illustrations inside it are adorable!

My heart! Gobbolino is a witch's cat, but he just wants to be a kitchen cat-sit by the fire and catch mice. But no one wants a witch's cat :( So Gobbolino journeys all over to find a house that wants him.
