Very interesting story line here. Loved learning more about mythology and the viewpoint of the lesser gods, especially since it's easier to focus on the prominent ones. Not going into much of a review with this one but didn't enjoy the end at all, it was eye rolling and cringe worthy.

I really enjoyed the growth Circe went through, from a naive daughter hanging to the whims of others to the powerful witch who knew hers faults and strengths learned from the centuries of mistakes. The characters were Greek mythology based and therefore cruel in nature and while fascinating, also unlikeable besides Circe with her human heart. It was a bit slow and since there was no actual plot (just following Circes life), it was easy to put the book down and not pick it up again. Additionally, there were mainly love interests and supporting characters that were only there for a few chapters and then never seen again, which made it hard to connect to anyone but Circe. All in all, a reflective read with a satisfying ending.

About halfway done and I couldn’t finish it. It felt like there was no story there. I love Song of Achilles but this felt confusing and boring, sadly. I really wanted to like it.
