A light and entertaining read, but a bit too much drama to make it believable.

Perhaps not the best topic to read about as I shelter in place, but I enjoyed this family drama set during a 7-day voluntary quarantine.

I liked this book about a British family who spend a week together at Christmas under quarantine. The amount of drama approaches the soap opera level, yet the book keeps a realistic tone. I was amused by all the little digs/wonderments at things Americans say/do/pronouncements. With each I was like, what was remarkable about that?

Definitely a book where coincidences happen that are kind of unrealistic (she just happens to meet him at the airport) but overall an enjoyable read.

Not as developed as I would have liked, but a simple family Christmas story.

It's rare that a book goes in a direction that you don't expect anymore. Not to say that this is a unique book with its premise - a squabbling family forced to spend seven days together, but under quarantine? From an Ebola like plague? Who may or may not contract it? With a bastard child about to show up, and a fiancé who may or may not be what it seems? I quite liked this British little ditty, and would recommend it to anyone who likes dysfunctional family drama.

Ovo je bilo zabavno! Malo naginje ka Televisa presenta, ali na sladak način. Neki preokreti su za očekivanje, drugi baš i ne, ali sve u svemu simpa knjižica za odmaranje mozga.

I know this is technically a Christmas book but I really fancied an easy read and this ticked the box.

I enjoyed the story - a family stuck in quarantine with each other over Christmas and all the dramas that entails.

However, I felt some of the characters fell a little flat for me.

Overall, 4 stars.

It's a soap opera or a British mini-series drama, complete with several stock characters, but Hornak makes them all work to create a solid and entertaining, if predictably plotted, novel.
