Second in the Shifters urban fantasy series revolving around the Sanders Pride and Faythe Sanders in particular.

My Take
Faythe drives me nuts. She's a whining prima donna who expects everyone to drop everything for her. I think her daddy's a bit blind when it comes to Faythe. After all the exposure she's had to Pride politics and governing, I'd expect her to be a bit smarter. But then I may not be fair. She is in her early twenties with a teen-attitude about her parents' exposure. I can also understand her anger over her father's insisting on corroborating every word she says with any of the other guys.

Reading about Pride politics is certainly interesting. As annoying as Kevin Mitchell is, he does make an excellent point...but then I am a bit biased. The scientific discoveries about the susceptibility of certain members of the human race to a cat scratch was interesting and plausible enough to non-scientific me.

Guys will enjoy Faythe having to apply for a job as a stripper.

Oh, gimme a break! How is Faythe supposed to know in advance that Painter would be important or that Andrew is involved? They're just lucky she's able to put the clues together and willing to share with this group of macho idjits!

Oof, a good bit of tension when Faythe realizes how Andrew was probably changed. Her daddy is not happy and he is p-u-s-h-ing her. Even more tension when Marc hears bits of what happened. I can't really fault him for his response to Faythe. It's just more of her immature behavior with no thought for anyone else.

The Story
Faythe and Marc get diverted from their plans for a long weekend when strays and toms start turning up dead. It seems there's a murdering tabbie out there tracking yet another killer---Andrew, Faythe's old human boyfriend who got scratched and. He. Is. Pissed.

The Characters
After a bargain she made with her father, werecat Faythe Sanders is working as an Enforcer for her father, the alpha of their Pride.

She's partnered up with Marc Ramos the heir to the Pride and Faythe's on-again-boyfriend. Taken in as a stray when he was 14-years-old, he's Greg Sanders' pride and joy. He's been faithful and patient waiting for Faythe. 'Been' being the operative word.

Michael Sanders is the oldest brother, has a law degree, and is married to a full-human supermodel. He has his own home within Pride territory. Additional brothers include Owen and Ethan (he's partnered up with his friend Jace Hammond). Parker Pierce and Vic Di Carlo are additional Enforcers. Ryan is another brother but after his betrayals in Stray, Ryan is in the cage with no foreseeable release date. Faythe has acquired a modicum of respect for her mother after her revelations in Stray.

Holden Pierce and his brother Parker were driving Holden back to school when they found another dead stray in New Orleans. Dan Painter is the stray that Faythe takes down on her own. Seems he has multiple agendas.

Andrew Wallace was Faythe's human boyfriend back at school in Texas. Seems that little nick took big time. Luiz is a South American stray with a love for serial killing. And Miguel's brother. Manx, a.k.a., Mercedes Carreño, is a South American kitty with vengeance on her mind and four-months along; this one she's gonna keep!

The Cover
The cover is all turquoise and pinks with Faythe in a flirtatiously cheeky pose, hip cocked, arms back, and her head ducking forward to ensure she can see us as she peeks from under the top of the cover in her horizontally stripped skinny tanktop and low-slung jeans.

The title focuses on a Rogue shifter creating problems for the Pride.

I'm going to make this short and sweet. I still love Faythe. I know most people can't stand her, but I will love how bad-ass and "I-dont-take-no-shit" she is. So for that I loved the book.

But no, it wasn't as exciting and thrilling as [b:Stray|793399|Stray (Shifters, #1)|Rachel Vincent|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1298651423s/793399.jpg|779381] was, but I'm okay with that.

My heart hurts at the pause of relationship her and Mark are in. But I'm sure I will get over that.

Still love the series and will be continuing.

So as short and sweet as that was, onward we go!

If it's even possible, this book was even better than the first. I hope Faythe and Marc work things out. They belong together. I can't wait to read the next one.

Lots of thrilling suspenseful moments in Rogue as Faith and the guys go in search the the cats. This was a page turning who done it and why in many aspects.

Faith and Marc are walking a tight rope as far as their relationship goes. He wants what she doesn't seem to want to give. As certain situations comes to light, Marcs tensions grow.

The minute you read about Andrew you know there is some doom and gloom coming up soon. But of course that is in the next book.

I thought this was a solid finish to some plot lines that were begun in book one, and I like the addition of another woman character because that was lacking in the first story. Definitely going to continue and see what happens next.
