It's the perfect example on how to continue a series with upped stakes without loosing the original idea. It's mesmerizing to read, no matter if it's the first time or a reread

Suzanne is just the real master of writing dystopian novels. She writes these characters so humanly and real, so you fall in love with them and the world. In this book we also got some new informations of Haymitch in the games.
In this book you could really see how Katniss develops as a person and starts to see Peeta as a friend rather then just a helping hand (the lover boy). The biggest reason why I like Katniss is, because she always helps others (like the two girls escaping) and never backdowns, for nothing. In this book she was determined to save Peeta this time and made Haymitch help him two. I also love the bond that Katniss and Haymitch have (Katniss always knows, what Haymitch wants from her). I recently watched the first movie and there you can really read it in his eyes. He's a father figure, which she was missing. Not that she needs one, she's fierce and brave but in some situation it's good to have someone that cares, protects and guides you.
Peeta uses the videos as an advantage and studies the other winners, so they have a bigger chance of winning. He improves himself to, uses observations as a weapon.
Best parts:
Finnick and Peeta
Mags
and the friendships
revolution...
