Fast-paced, action-packed, and more violent than The Hunger Games. Lots of twists and turns, some the reader can guess at, others are complete surprises. You don't get to spend as much time inside Katniss' head as in Hunger Games because there's so much action.

I found Catching Fire more enticing than the Hunger Games, it kept you waiting for something big to happen and at that point you're already invested.
Katniss is joined by many captivating characters, Johanna Mason, Finnick- all who make you want to know more about them. As soon as you think the star crossed lovers are safe, the whole world spins.

Even if I preferred the first book, this is such a good continuation. You can see how everything fits into the bigger picture like a puzzle. The tension and suspense were so good I did not expect anything to happen like it did. This is an incredible book.

First time reading this since middle school and I loved it even more than I remember. Also, team Peeta all the way
