3 solid stars.

Since I enjoyed the author's previous works, I was excited to receive The Guilt Trip as an ARC! Three couples travel to a beautiful villa in Portugal for Will and Ali's wedding weekend. What's supposed to be a romantic getaway quickly goes wrong as all the secrets and lies pile up and everyone is a suspect.

The story moves fast and I was able to finish in just a few hours. However nothing too exciting or thrilling happens until the last few chapters, and I can't say the ending was too surprising for me as there were clues throughout the book that hinted towards the big reveal. All in all, it is a good read that I would recommend.

Special thanks to Netgalley, the publishers, and the author for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided to me through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to the author and publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

Sandie Jones’s “The Guilt Trip” will take you on a holiday unlike any other you’ve ever been on before. Rachel and Noah have been friends since their college days, and are married to Jack and Paige, respectively. The four take a trip to Portugal for Jack’s brother Will’s wedding to Ali, and things will never be the same.

All I could think while reading this book is “Whoa! What is happening? And why are there soooooo many secrets?” This book will hook you from the very beginning, and the pages will keep turning until the very end. It’s so dark, twisty and just makes you want to keep reading to see what will happen next. It kept me guessing until the very end, and I will definitely be telling my friends to throw this one in their beach bags for their next read.

What a fun ride! The characters were really well written, the atmosphere was perfectly described and the tangled web of relationships was well explained. There were a few things I'd unraveled, but there were still a few surprises, which for me makes for a great mystery. I will seek more from this author and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good story about friendship, betrayal and destination weddings.

This was an okay book. The ending was very confusing for me and overall not a memorable book.

3.5 stars rounded down! I did enjoy this book, and would recommend it, but I didn’t absolutely love it! It reminds me a lot of The guest list by Lucy foley, but I liked the Guest List better. This book wasn’t really a thriller until the last couple chapters. The rest was more just relationship and friendship drama! This book does have a twist at the end, so what you thought was happening the whole time turns out to be different and I didn’t see it coming. It was a little slow and boring at times during the middle but then picked up at about 3/4 of the way In. The only thrilling part at the end kind of comes out of no where even though you knew from the first page something happens at the wedding. I did like the story though and the mystery of it!

This is a fun "who-dunnit" where everything is not exactly as it seems. Mostly told from Rachel's point of view, the story takes place during a long weekend in Portugal for a destination wedding. Rachel's brother-in-law, Will, is getting married to "party-girl" Ali. Drama always follows Ali, and this weekend wedding does not disappoint.

This is a 2.5 - started out fun and gossipy and with characters you would love to hate - but then got kind of convoluted and whiny with generally unappealing characters. I do wanted to like it because I’ve read her other books and they were enjoyable!

Thanks to NetGalley for an audiobook copy of The Guilt Trip. This is an easy read, I was able to listen to the entire novel in one setting. The narrator did a great job voicing the characters and bringing the dialogue to life.
I have enjoyed Sandie Jones’s previous novels, but I felt that this book fell short for me. One character was set up to be a fall guy from the beginning, so I knew immediately that the storyline about that was a misdirection attempt. It was too blatant. Then the crash scene-quite a bit out there. But, the last chapter, as in all her books, leaves you with a jaw dropping reaction.
