The two things this book had going for it were Caterina's character development, which was excellent (I love her), and the way that Caterina and Rahul were together, which was super soft and sweet. Apart from that, I was pretty disappointed, which sucks, because I really loved Of Curses and Kisses.

I wish that this book had been more St Rosetta's-based in terms of both setting and characters. That is what made the first book so magical and engaging, and it was definitely lacking in this instalment. Generally, this book ended up trying to do too much and it lacked clarity by its conclusion. Also
Rahul's character development was WAY too rushed, and it was never made explicitly clear that he gave up the hair gel because he realised RC was a bad guy, and not because he could no longer get hold of it. Finally, Mia's backstory came out of absolutely nowhere and was completely jarring. I get her character is relevant for tension in the story, but I think the plot could have been written in such a way as to create tension without need for her
.

Nevertheless overall I still enjoyed reading this and am looking forward to reading Isha's story in the third book of this series!
