I haven't read this probably since it first came out, but so much of it came back! Also there were a lot of scenes I forgot. Mostly because the movie left a lot out, so we're not going to talk about that awful adaptation and look forward to the TV series that's coming!

I can see why kids gravitate towards Riordan's writing because it's fast paced, funny and has fantastic characters. Plus, this whole series just has really great chapter names throughout, adding to the fun nature of the story. It's also a great introduction to Greeky mythology for those middle grade readers. You can learn something while reading about fun adventures!

I read this book late. I wish I had read it earlier (when I was 11). Nevertheless, I’m glad that I eventually read it and I’m glad to continue reading the rest of the series. I’m also excited for the tv show to release.
