Slow start - strong finish
So that's the famous Dark Phoenix arc. I just got into comics as an adult and this is one of the first stories I finished. While I think that in the ending the story picked up and packed quite the punch, the beginning was a lot slower compared to that. It feels like it is pondering for quite a while without saying much.
What I didn't like was part of the writing in the first half which was very cheesy, over the top, feeling like a bad soap opera.
The art is very solid and sometimes produces very iconic and meaningful stills.
I really liked the scenes where the X-Men have a moment to reconsider if and why they want to fight for Jean. Plus, the ending is emotional for Jean and the Dark Phoenix are inserperably one.
All in all, I did like this story especially if you focus on its strong points near to the middle/end. I understand that this is one of the pillars that make up the X-Men saga.

You can jump into this comic easily without having read previous ones, plus in each comic we get a recap of who everyone is and what they can do. Lots of exciting action and emotional storylines.
Moderate: Slavery and Misogyny
