I loved this book. Highly recommend listening to it, because it's read by Emily Ratajkowski, and hearing her tell her story/read her own writing is quite moving. I've never been one to believe that celebrities have easier lives than the rest of us (though money sure probably helps), but this book only proves how hard one has to work to be seen as intelligent when making a living off of modeling and being beautiful. I especially loved how Emily analyzed her past friendships with women, holding herself accountable and examining the ways in which women are set up for failure in many ways when it comes to friendship and competition.

This is not a relatable memoir, but it isn't meant to be. She hasn't had a life that many people can relate to, but throughout her life, she has found herself questioning her career and what it means to be an empowered woman in our society- and that I did relate to her reflection through this memoir. How we can think we are taking control of our body, femininity and looks, while actually playing into a patriarchal system; trying to find that balance between doing what we want to do and what society wants us to do, questioning the source of our "wants" along the way. I thought Emily did a great job exploring these themes and questions, and being able to convey such an unrelatable experience in a way that the reader can understand.

I thought there was some interesting conversation about a woman’s worth coming through her body.

I also think EmRata has a lot of experience that is very much 1% of the population, which isn’t to say her life story doesn’t add worth and value, it’s just not as readily relatable when discussing something as human as a body.

A very refreshing outlook on feminism and self possession that I feel is often missed in feminist writing. Emily Ratajkowski is a very compelling writer and story teller, I hope she decides to write more in the future.
