When I was younger and trying to read this I hated Nynaeve. At this point in the series she and Mat are easily my favorite characters. In any other series Mat would be a trope but in WoT he's a breath of fresh air. He's the only character who is open and honest. With so many failed attempts at subversion and control its nice to have someone like him. Nynaeve's blatant hypocrisy is so sincere I sometimes think she's the only realistic character in the series. Most people do believe they're completely right while they do exactly what they look down at others for. I also think they bring out the best in each other. When they are together they actually feel like family. They can be cold and cruel to each other, but no one else can. It's little and subtle things like that which made this one of my favorite books in the series. It's also one of the more fun, misplaced rape humor and all.

The saga continues. It is nice, while re-reading this series, to still be surprised and delighted by events forgotten due to the sheer size of this epic tale. Really excellent storytelling and writing.

Started out fairly boring, then got really interesting. Well paced for the rest of the book, lots of storylines going on. The ending was pretty fast paced and a bit confusing but I'm excited to read the next one

The seventh book of The Wheel of Time is called A Crown of Swords referencing to the King’s crown of Illian. Rand finally captures Illian.

I quite enjoyed the book better than the last one. The only sloggish bit was Egwene’s POV. It dragged and slowed the pace in my opinion. Apart from that, it was actually not bad. Perrin’s POV was also quite slow but thank God the chunk of it was at the start. So that makes the first half of the book pretty slow. Enter Mat, and it picks up. His POV in this book is hilarious. I enjoyed it very much. Tylin’s Toy. Hilarious.

Rand and Min’s relationship blooms. Cadsuane introduces herself. A lot of other things are developed. For me, book 8 is where the slog starts. But I’ll be the judge of that when I get to it.

My top five entertaining moments from this book are (spoilers down here):

5) The whole thing with Tylin and Mat, and the various references of ‘bosoms’
4) Rand and Min’s ‘comforting’
3) Egwene talking to Lan
2) Nynaeve’s rescue
1) Elayne and Nynaeve having toh towards Mat.
