You’ll like this book if you like Ruby Dixon’s books.

It’s not a perfect match for me because I’m not really into fated mates or possessive, controlling men.

I chose this book because I kept seeing it recommended on reddit threads. One thing that’s kind of unique about this book is that Theo is
considered very ugly by the standards of his own society. Not by human standards, however.

I think the writing is good and the setting is interesting. I am going to read more of these books to see how the larger story plays out.  I hope Rhaego gets a book.

*insert Janessa saying, "I told you you'd like this book." * 🤣

A few years ago when Janessa first rec'd me another alien series she rec'd me this one as well...but me being me I bounced around to a bunch of other books/series/authors before finally deciding to read this one. And like always, I had so much fun reading this book! This was pretty much a one sitting read, since I started last night before bed and read until my eyes refused to stay open, then woke to finish the rest.

I do feel like a lot of the back and forth, in the beginning, could have been cut out and maybe we could have had more planet history/lore added in? Idk, the beginning was a bit boring after she lands 😅

I'm excited to read the rest of the series to see what other couple's we get as well as seeing where the overarching story goes. 💜

i have had this on my alien romance tbr for AGES, but i finally picked it up and i had a great time! the premise of the men going to "husband" school is really interesting and i ate it up. i loved the forced proximity aspect of this, and can't wait to continue the series.

⚠️: kidnapping, violence, pregnancy, trafficking, animal cruelty, death of parent, sexual harassment

This has been in recommendations so many times and I finally relented.

As an alien romance? Eh. Not really alien. Stronger human dude with markings that look like tattoos but are actually scars.

As a story in general? Yeah, it's alright. It all felt a little .. cliche in a way, a little too obvious, but I overall enjoyed it and would be willing to read more of the series. The writing was good, the characters were okay, the plot was solid.

I'm interested in learning more about life outside of Clecania (being a sci fi nerd interested in aliens in an alien romance) but not sure how much the series will indulge that. Guess I'll find out!

I'm disappointed there isn't a book about Rhaego in the series yet (6 books as of writing this) because he'd be my next obvious choice (being described as looking like a demon but being a romantic sweetheart and all) but looks like it's mostly all the superhuman dudes. That said, I did see on the author's GR page that they DO plan on writing a book about Rhaego eventually so woohoo!
