this book was heartbreaking. every single relationship in this book, may it be between lovers, friends, family members, or even enemies, was so well written and realistic. every interaction a character has seems so real and you get brought in. the story telling and the plot and the scenery was just wow how does one get that creative?? i loved this book i could not even pick out a favorite part if i tried.

First off, the new covers are beautiful.

Second, this series has been with me for quite some time. I’ve read these books slowly. I love all the characters. I feel for all of them. I was heartbroken for so many in different ways. But mostly for the loss. So much loss. But in the end the loose strings are tied up and I am so happy for these stories.

Sabaa Tahir absolutely nailed it with this epic conclusion to the Ember Quartet. After a much slower story in the third book, this final one took off and did not stop!

Let's talk about the world-building—off the charts! Tahir paints this insanely vivid picture of the Martial Empire and beyond which I talked about in my review of An Ember In The Ashes. As the story progressed, so did the world-building; all the way through to the end.

Many of the characters suffered through a journey of self-discovery during this series. Their journeys, their struggles, and their relationships are all so relatable. It made some of their stories just that much more tragic.

This book also had the most action of any of the four. The series pits characters against powerful adversaries and forces of darkness, embodying the classic adventure trope of facing the ultimate evil.

But amidst all the chaos and carnage, there's this underlying message of hope and friendship that really hits home. It's about standing tall in the face of darkness, about never giving up, no matter how tough things get.

In the end, "A Sky Beyond the Storm" isn't just a book—it's an experience. Sabaa Tahir absolutely unalived my heart and soul with this one!
