This series is just so good! Much more of a slow burn (pun unintended lol) than the first one but loved the past pov as well to tell the story. Also the hype was real about the bartop scene iykyk
Rowan and Hallie’s relationship also hit me straight in the heart it was so damn precious

I love a good second chance romance and PROTECT is sheer perfection. The slow burn, the inevitable crush of bodies and the dreamy swoon of Rowan working to get his Violette back.
It's 1.30 am and I am crying my eyes out. The ending was emotional. This book was emotionally damaged me. In a good way, of course.
I am actually not into second-chance trope but the second-chance this book offer was beautiful. So well written.
Rowan was 99% perfect. The way he was so patient with Violette was everything from this book. His royalty to Jacob was chef's kiss yet heartbreaking too. I can't get enough of his gentleness with Hollie. I want more Rowan and Hollie. Geez here I am again with long list of book boyfriend and Rowan is newest additional.

“Protect” 👩🚒 🩺 This wildfire book series, Sky Ridge Hotshots, is HOTT! And @authorpaisleyhope really can write a swooning, golden retriever MMC! Rowan and Violette fell in love when they were 18 but he broke her hurt - no spoilers but he’s always protected her. 10 years later as a single mom, getting a divorce she is his trauma nurse back in their hometown. The duel timelines were so good. The duet narration is perfect! (Listen to series in order.)

this series just isn’t doing it for me i was so bored the whole book
I am a sucker for a Paisley Hope book. She knows how to write a swoony/alpha MMC and the FMC who is their perfect match.
Rowan and Violette
I do enjoy a good second chance book. These two were connected through Jacob, Rowans best friend and Violettes twin brother. In this book we do get to see through backflashes on how Rowan and Violette connected in hs. Which was so sweet and emotional with the downfall.
Fate is always a funny thing. Rowan never expected to walk into the town bar to see Violette back behind the bar serving. The tension between these two is years and years of it building up. Then with Rowan getting injured on the job, it only heightens everything.
Watching these two reconnect and leaning/supporting each other through the death of Jacob, her divorce, first love of each other, and his job. I love how it opens up about getting therapy. This was an emotional book but dam does Paisley know how to write the steamy scenes.
One of the main stars of this book was Hollie, Violette’s daughter. Rowan always knew they were a packaged deal and he made sure that she knew he was all in.
Tropes: Second Chance, Single Mom, Wildland Firefighter x Nurse, Brother's Best Friend
