Cruel Prince is the first book in the Royal Hearts Academy series. This book features Jace and Dylan. This book is told in duel point of views which is my favorite writing style because it lets you know what each character is thinking.

Jace and Dylan were childhood friends growing up. Some things happened and Dylan had to move away. Years later Dylan is back and Jace is out to hurt her how he thinks she hurt him.

I loved this story and how the characters had a chance to grow through the book.

I liked it. Dylan was getting on my nerves at some points but... I've seen worse.

There was some fun banter, which I appreciate .

This book started out, and I was thinking way too much drama. But after reading almost halfway thru it, I couldn’t put it down. The main characters and turmoils of the story are well defined and highlighted throughout the book. Tragedy and brokenness are definitely a theme in this book, along with all the taboo topics you can think of but presented perfectly in this story. I found myself intrigued, heartbroken, surprised, and even shocked by the end of this story. Jace and Dylan have a hot and cold relationship with so much past to get over to find their way it almost seems impossible. This book is steamy and will take your emotions on a roller coaster. Can he forgive her? Can she forgive herself? Can they love again? How many times can you have your heart broken before you give up and move on?
I loved that author took a risk and included so many topics that are usually stayed away from. The face she was comfortable interweaving these into her story gave the book so much more depth. This story does have more books in the series, but they focus on other characters. I look forward to reading those and being just as stunned as I was with this book. This is definitely something I will read again I love the feeling the author invoked. She was really able to connect her characters to her readers and elicit so much feeling during certain chapters.

First thing Oak better get together with Bianca or have his book, he deserves better.

So beginning of book Jace and Dylan were interesting but soon they would do same things all over again. Never felt any chemistry between them and I can't believe Jace believed that lie.
I super excited for Cole and Sawyer book now that is chemistry love their banter so much.

“I lost you once…and I’ll burn the whole fucking world to the ground before I ever make that mistake again.” - Jace

Dylan and Jace were best friends, they were each others everything, their safe place. When Dylan left town for a few years she left all of that behind.
When she returns to Royal Hearts for her senior year, she thinks it’s her chance to get her best friend back, but the Jace that she sees now is someone she doesn’t recognize and worse he hates her with such a passion.

I really liked this book, it was a quick easy read.
Jace is an epic asshole, everything he does comes from so much pain and trauma and it isn’t until the last 5% of the book that he starts to realize that maybe things aren’t has they seem. As much as he hates Dylan there are moments when he still protects her and takes care her.
Dylan has dealt with a lot but she is such a badass,
spoiler….
I mean the girl beats her cousins ass in the hallway. Chef kiss.

This book deals with a lot of loss and trauma. There are so heavy parts to this book.
read the trigger warnings.
